The Story Behind Yanna's Groove

In 2007 God blessed Kinyanna with a beautiful baby girl and named her Aiyanna Isis. Once she was old enough to venture out, Kinyanna would bring her to the studio and there she would lay in my lap (proud Godmother that I am) and listen to her mother's voice resonate through the monitors.  One day while we were recording the vocals for Yanna's Groove, we noticed she would bounce every time the music played. Hence the titled changed from "Summer Groove" to "Yanna's Groove" because you could count on her stopping whatever she was doing to dance to this song.  The video to Yanna's Groove was shot in part at Brooklyn's Jazz Café in Dallas. If you ever get a chance to visit Dallas, be sure to stop by and enjoy the cuisine and live music at it's finest!

Raising Awareness/Tribute to Michael Jackson

Families In The kNOw is an annual community event that seeks to raise the level of awareness to parents, youth and residents to the devastating epidemic of drugs and alcohol.  Kinyanna performed at this event and gave tribute to "The King of Pop" Michael Jackson" whose untimely death rocked the nation.

Kinyanna was rehearsing a new song today so we decided to share a few clips of the rehearsal. The funny part is, her daughter "Aiyana "Lil Mini Me Kinyanna" decided she wanted to be a part of the rehearsal as well.

So, here we are trying to make it through to the second verse and once again "Lil Mini Me Kinyanna" wanted to make sure her voice was heard during the rehearsal. Quite a hillarious night.
